Life Skills Level 1

Service Description

For dogs aged 5 months and over only. This is a 5 class course in total, meeting twice per week, with the final session focused on bringing everything together and applying the skills learnt throughout the course. Starts 12th May at 7:15pm. Maximum 6 dogs per class. (THE COURSE IS NON-REFUNDABLE) Life Skills Level 1 is designed for dogs who are ready for the next step after puppy training, or for older beginner dogs who need help building better manners, calmer behaviour and more reliable responses in everyday life. This course focuses on practical, reward-based training that helps dogs and their handlers develop skills that work in the real world, not just in a training class. The aim is to improve focus, engagement, self-control and confidence, while helping owners build a stronger relationship with their dog through clear communication and consistent guidance. Throughout the course, dogs and handlers will work on key life skills including: Walking calmly without pulling Recall foundations Focus and engagement around distractions Impulse control Settling calmly Building confidence and connection with their handler Training in a group setting can be challenging for many dogs, so classes are carefully structured to set dogs up for success from the start. Dogs will learn to work around other dogs in a controlled environment, helping them build calmness and reliability without becoming overwhelmed or over aroused. This course is led using proven, ethical, reward-based methods by a multi award winning trainer, giving owners practical support and guidance every step of the way. Please bring plenty of small, tasty treats, a non-squeaky toy, and a bed or mat. No extendable leads, choke/pinch/electric or prong collars please.
